Art History Certificate Programme
Event Date: Tue 4 Sep 2012
Venue: Limerick
The Department of History is currently recruiting students for its Certificate programme in the History of Art and Design. This is a one-year ECTS- accredited certificate course which is held in UL on Tuesday evenings between 6.30pm and 9.30pm during semester time.
The course is open to students of 23 years of age and over, and a friendly teaching environment is created through lectures and class discussion. The lecturers are all experts in their field, and visits to galleries have formed a popular element of the course during recent years.
We cater for all people with a serious interest in Irish and European Art History from the Ancient World until the contemporary era. The course would suit those with jobs and family commitments. Teaching is pitched to assist complete beginners as well as to challenge more advanced students.
Assessment is based on written coursework submitted throughout the year. The certificate is at level-6 within the National Framework of Qualifications, and will demonstrate to a future employer that you have a good level of literacy and cultural awareness. It would also provide a strong platform for further study in the Humanities at university level.
