The Community Foundation for Ireland (CFI) established The Ray Murphy Fund in memory of the support given by the late Ray Murphy to both the philanthropic sector and to the Community Foundation.
The OLC Ireland Trust Fund is managed by The Community Foundation for Ireland on behalf of The Sisters of Our Lady of Charity. The Fund will endeavour to support projects that most closely fit the criteria of organisations’ working with women tackling addictions, prostitution and trafficking, violence and abuse. The goal of the fund is to provide resources which will help educate, develop and enhance the lives and dignity of marginalised women.

Each grant is normally in the range €500 to €5,000. The maximum grant available is €10,000 only when there are exceptional circumstances. Grants are normally once off although the Grants Committee may consider recurrent grants in exceptional circumstances.

Eligibility
In 2009 a particular focus will be paid to specific (once-off) projects by women’s groups (registered charities and not-for-profit organisations), tackling addictions, prostitution and trafficking, violence and abuse.

Applications from Groups must be from community and voluntary groups that possess charitable aims and are not for profit. Organisations should also display the following qualities;

A commitment to Equal opportunities
A willingness to share learning with others
Where possible, that service users are involved in the design, planning and delivery of the project
A commitment to working in partnership with other organisations
Applications should include clear, detailed realistic costings and timescales
For larger grants the project must be sustainable beyond a three year period or completed within this term
The OLC Ireland Trust Fund will support areas that a not currently well supported by the state
